Because its founder shares our passions for travel, wine and great food, our love affair with Nonna Mia began before the New Orleans Mid-City restaurant even opened its doors. Their patio remains one of our team’s favorite places to relax, celebrate or recuperate over a warm, cheesy panini and a cool glass of carefully selected wine.
Challenge: New Orleans has its fair share of “Italian” restaurants – but we all know that simply making a pizza doesn’t make you Italian. Nonna Mia was different and we needed to get the message across to the dining community that a trip to Nonna Mia would include authentic elements of a trip to Italy itself. The Italian founder’s passion for quality food in a beautiful rustic setting called for a new brand experience that felt like a journey. Because the restaurant was new, we had the pleasure and challenge of creating the brand from scratch (pun intended).
Solution: Our team integrated vintage Italian photography, newspaper clippings and postcards in a scrapbook style compilation that has diners feeling more like they’re perusing a memoir of an amazing trip than perusing a menu. We created (award-winning) staff t-shirts with quotes from Italian siren Sophia Loren. Our print ad campaign took slices of Italian life and combined them with special offers to entice new customers. Nonna Mia’s food is comforting, their brand is award-winning, and their business is booming.
