Objective: We wanted to send an authentic message of warmth, gratitude and hope for the holidays to our clients.
We also wanted to show off our origami skills.
Challenge: Christmas cards are common and often get overlooked in the busy season. Our client was demanding and last minute. (We were our own worst nightmare.)
Solution: We decided to skip Christmas and focus on New Years – when our clients would be a little more relaxed and have more time to notice our message.
We also believe the New Year sets the tone for new plans, new goals, and imagining your future in general. We wanted our card to go beyond the typical corporate greeting card.
We thought we’d create a card like those paper fortune tellers that you used to make in grammar school. It was a throwback idea that everyone loved. And the fortune-telling aspect enhanced our message of inspiration. We also loved the idea that the card was interactive and could be shared. (When they arrived at our office we found it irresistible to not play with them.)
Results: Feedback was overwhelming! Clients called us to rave about the cards! And – this project won us a coveted Gold ADDY Award.
